New Students of Social Work and Social Administration Embrace University Life in Grand Welcome Event

New students of Social Work and Social Administration at an Islamic university in Uganda were officially given a warm and festive welcome by their peers. 

The new students were welcomed at a dinner organized by the university's Social Work Students Association on Saturday 28th October 2023.

The event, held at IUIU's main campus, brought together the university's incoming class of social work and social administration students graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Head of the Department of Social Work, Mr Namigugu Ayub, and the Guild President of the Student Union Mr Oguti Nasir. 

In his welcoming speech, Mr. Ayub, an esteemed figure in the field of social work, inspired the new students with words of wisdom and encouragement. He emphasized the importance of discipline and dedication to their purpose at the university and commended them for choosing the course of social work.

The Guild President Mr Oguti Nasir, shared insights into the vibrant campus life and the numerous opportunities available to students. He stressed the importance of active participation in student activities and community engagement while at IUIU.

The welcoming dinner set the stage for a transformative academic year for the students. With their shared commitment to social change and community betterment, the new cohort of social work and social administration students is now equipped with the knowledge and motivation to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.
