''Transit from Nursing to Medicine''. Professor Badru Kateregga tells trainees in Nursing.

Professor Badru Kateregga, the Chancellor of Kampala University has challenged the finalists in the School of Nursing and Midwifery to further their Education immediately after they graduate.

Professor Kateregga said this during the 1ST dinner of the School of Nursing and Midwifery where he presided over as a chief guest.

‘’I had five of my students who started like you in the certificate but, they are now medical doctors. You have started on the right journey. You can transition from nursing to medicine and become medical doctors.’’ said Professor Kateregga.

He added that the world of nursing is cherished for its unique values which aim at producing an all-around health worker, who is ready to holistically serve humanity in any part of the globe both independently and under minimal supervision with emphasis on prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. 

‘’Such a health worker must be well disciplined. This is what I urge you to be. So, keep the discipline and you will preserve the profession’’ added Professor Kateregga.

Professor Kateregga advised the students to be devoted and committed to meeting the prevailing demands as far as the health sector is concerned.

He cautioned the students, that Nursing is a calling that goes with passion. Therefore, they should have a passion for it.
