A Two-Day Workshop on 'The Integration of Knowledge Thesis: An Islamic Perspective'

Islamic University in Uganda and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), East Africa organized a two-day workshop on "The Integration of Knowledge Thesis: An Islamic Perspective". Chaired by Prof Omar Hassan Kasule, who is also the Secretary General of IIIT. The workshop was held on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th June 2023 at IUIU Kampala Campus and was attended by the Rector of IUIU Prof Ismail Simbwa Gygenda, IIIT Regional Coordinator of  East Africa Abdul Hamid Slatch, and no less than 40 participants.

The main resource person, Prof Mohammed Al Hassan Biraima who is an academic advisor to IIIT East Africa Office, discussed the ontological rationale, the methodological aspect, and Islamic perspectives of Islamic integration of knowledge. Prof  Biraima emphasized the need for Islamic integration of knowledge that embraces both the material and spiritual realities of the universe as a remedy to the crisis confronting our world.
