The first batch of Habib Medical School doctors of Islamic University in Uganda is set to write their final examinations in April ahead of preparations for the historical graduation ceremony this November.

The group of 34-finalists is currently encamped in Masaka regional referral hospital for final training.

The same group returned a few months back from their two-months recess in Turkey where they gained exposure to European standard medical experiences by university professors.

According to records from the assistant academic registrar’s office of Kampala campus, the candidates are scheduled to do a number of exams including major clerkship, surgery obstetrics, pediatrics and internal medicine.

Meanwhile, the Kampala campus director Dr Matovu regrets for the number of applicants who failed to enroll in the medical school due to official government limits. This year the school admitted less than 100 students as the number permissible by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
