Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Kohkher Urges Universities to Embrace Innovation at 34th IUIU Graduation Ceremony

H.E. Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Kohkher, Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology, represented the OIC Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, at the 34th Graduation Ceremony of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), which was held on 20 December 2025 at the Main Campus in Mbale, Uganda.

In his address, Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher encouraged the IUIU and other OIC universities, as well as universities in the OIC Member States, to transcend traditional models of teaching and learning and reposition themselves as dynamic hubs of innovation, interdisciplinary research, and technological entrepreneurship. He reaffirmed the OIC’s full commitment to supporting IUIU in its mission to emerge as a center of academic excellence and a catalyst for socio-economic development within the region and the wider Muslim world.
