Ladies outshine Gents in Performance and Number in this Year's IUIU Graduation Ceremony

During his address to the graduands, Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, rector of Islamic University in Uganda said that a total of 1,989 Students graduated at the ceremony, including 31 graduates with certificates, 240 with diplomas, 1564 with Bachelor and 154 with Postgraduate degrees. 54% of the graduands are female and 46% are male.

The female graduates also performed better than males in the first and second-class upper categories.

The Rector said the rise in the number of female graduates is a sign that the Muslim community is now committed to educating the girl child.
