Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has emerged victorious at the CEHURD Moot Court Competition, which brought together 17 participating universities from across Uganda and was held on 25 September 2026.
IUIU was represented by students from the Females Campus, Kabojja, including Ms. Kabaliisa Martha, an LLB Year Four student, and Ms. Kitimbo Alison Faith, an LLB Year Three student.
Under the mentorship of Counsel Mukiibi Sharrif, the students showcased the power of preparation, teamwork, discipline, and confidence in legal advocacy.
The IUIU-FC team delivered a remarkable performance throughout the competition, demonstrating exceptional legal research, argumentation, confidence, and courtroom advocacy.

Ms. Kitimbo Alison Faith emerged as the Best Oralist, scoring an impressive 83%.
In the final team assessment, IUIU-FC recorded an average score of 81%, securing victory over Uganda Pentecostal University, which scored 78.3%.
Law in the Service of Justice and Human Rights
The competition was organised by the Center for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD), an organisation working to advance health rights and human rights through strategic litigation, advocacy, research, and community empowerment.
The CEHURD Moot Court Competition provides law students with an important platform to translate classroom knowledge into practical legal reasoning, research, written advocacy, and oral courtroom argument.
