SUBMIT PAPER


IUMJ accepts academic and original contributions from different fields, culture and educational belief. IUMJ considers for publications technical papers, reviewed articles, short notes, research innovations, conference papers, etc. All manuscripts submitted for publication to IUMJ shall be subjected to a double-blinded peer review process and authors shall be notified of every review and approval and publication processes. Author(s) must assert that articles have not been submitted for peer review or accepted for publication with other journals. Author(s) must assert that articles do not infringe upon any intellectual property or copyright laws by declaring no conflict of interest. Author(s) should also note that plagiarism test shall be carried out on all manuscripts submitted and shall be deem publishable with less that 20%. Author(s) shall acknowledge every content or source duly in the manuscript.

Submission of manuscripts is a continuous process all year round. To submit online, login at Online Submission. You willl manage your submission and review process electronically. This is the preferred form of submission for quicker processing.


GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION AND EDITING

Research Articles written in English (typed in single-line space) not exceeding fifteen (15) pages are invited from interested scholars and researchers in the academic community and other establishment for publication. Authors should format the manuscript in the following format and sections:

Title Page

  1. The title page should be boldly typed in Times New Romans, with font 12pts and align centered in the format:

  1. Names (First name, Initials, Last Name) in bold of corresponding author(s) (to whom proofs and all correspondence will be sent) with 10pts together with their affiliations; Departments, Name of Organization, Country and E-mail Address with 12pts in the format:

Abstract (10pts)

The abstract should not be more than 250 words. The essential elements of the abstract are:

  • Background: A simple opening sentence or two placing the work in context.
  • Aims: One or two sentences giving the purpose of the work.
  • Method(s): One or two sentences explaining what was done.
  • Results: One or two sentences indicating the main findings.
  • Conclusions: One sentence giving the most important consequence of the work.

Keywords (10pts)

A list of 3 – 5 words suitable for indexing should be provided below the abstract, each separated by a semicolon (;).

Introduction/Body (11pts)

The introduction should be concise (typed with single line spacing). Citation within the body should be in the form: “John (2001) discussed …..” or “John and Hamza (2014) looked into …..” of “John et al. (2018) researched on the ….

Methods (11pts)

The method section of a research paper provides the information by which a study’s validity is judged. Therefore, it should have a clear and precise description of how every detailed experiment and the rationale or procedures chosen. This section should describe the materials used, explain and describe the research protocol, explain how measurements were made and what were performed stating the statistical test done to analyse the data. This section should contain sufficient detail of all experiments, procedural detail that has been published previously should be referred and cited. When a modified procedure is used, author’s modifications of the previously published method is need to be given in details.

Results (11pts)

The section should be concise, reflecting the results obtained from the analysis, with clear figures, images and tables.

Discussion (11pts)

In this section, interpret your data in appropriate depth, describing the mechanism and observations. It is never appropriate to simply state that the data agreed with expectations, and let it drop at that. Recommendations for specific papers will provide additional suggestions.

Conclusion (11pts)

This should summarize the major conclusions that can be drawn, pointing out their significance and alluding to possible future directions.

Equations (11pts)

Equations should be typed using MS Word equation editor and numbered in Roman numeration, flushing (or justifying) to the right. For example:

Acknowledgements (10pts)

This should be brief and should be made only to those (people, organisations and grants) who have made a significant contribution to the study. Authors must also ensure that anyone named in the Acknowledgements agrees to being so named.

References (9pts)

The APA style of referencing should be used.

Figures (9pts)

Figures should be presented in order they are mentioned in the text. They should be titled labelled sequentially as Figure 1, Figure 2, etc. they should be clear, of high quality and resolution, appropriately serve their intended purpose with figure legends that adequately explains their meaning.

Tables (9pts)

All tables must be numbered sequentially (using Arabic numbers), short descriptive titled and labelled as Table 1, Table 2, etc. All abbreviations, units and nomenclatures used both in tables and manuscript should be clearly defined.
