IUIU Main Campus Swears in New Guild Leadership

The student guild at Islamic University in Uganda, has handed over power to the new leadership led by H.E Oguti Nasir. The event was held on friday the 26th of May 2023 in Sumaya Hall at the main campus in Mbale.

The newly sworn guild president of the Islamic University in Uganda main campus Mbale H.E Oguti Nasir vowed to work together with the administration for a methodical reign of the new Islamic university In Uganda Students’ Union IUSU as well as create a better environment for the university.

‘’leadership is not about titles or positions, but about one life touching another. It is the ability to transform vision to reality’’ he added.

Mr Oguti thanked the almighty Allah and his family who enabled him to reach the milestone.  

The university coordinator Mr. Siraji Mukhwana commended the university administration for supporting the exercise and the electoral process.

‘’As we congratulate you upon being elected into leadership, we thank you for accepting to come and serve the university, and on behalf of the department I wish you success during the term of your office.’’

The Rector of Islamic University in Uganda prof Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda represented by the vice-Rector in charge of finance and administration conveyed his appreciation to the outgoing guild for their service to the students and the university at large. 

‘’I salute the outgoing guild leadership for the servant leadership they have demonstrated throughout the journey to lead the rest of the students.’’

The Rector committed himself to resolving the challenges in every process and directed the university coordinator to scrutinize the IUSU constitution and propose what should be improved on and iron out conflicts in the various sections for the prosperity of the institution.
