IUIU Ends International Workshop on Defining Research and Innovation Strategy for Excellence with Appreciation to NUST and COMSTECH

Addressing the gathering the Vice-Rector, Finance and Administration, Islamic University in Uganda Prof kaziba Mpata who represented the Rector Prof Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda thanked the international and local visitors for coming and I in a special way pointed out NUST for the very brotherly consideration they made, commitment shown and the resilience they demonstrated to ensure that Islamic universities in Uganda benefit from your God-given talents and the talents. Prof Mpata acknowledges the effort put in by thanking the sons and daughters of Islamic University in Uganda and Kampala University and Islamic call university call college. He added that Kampala University is having a wing which is within the IUIU fraternity. He commended the Deputy vice chancellor of Kampala University Dr Wardah Gyagenda for being a good ambassador and for staying within IUIU circles despite the new assignment. “We congratulate you on that new position”, he said. 

He revealed that when the university thought of starting the Faculty of engineering, the best message was to get benchmarks from NUST because it was one of the best outstanding institutions in Pakistan and highly ranked in the world.  

Prof Mpata thanked the Rector of Islamic university in Uganda Prof Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda for endless efforts towards elevating the value of Islamic universities in Africa. ‘’In his visit to COMSTECH and Pakistan in general the rector landed on only good things and that is NUST’’ he said. 

He added that NUST is now in 104th position in the whole world in line with employer reputation and it’s one of the issues the National Council of Higher Education and inter University council in East Africa is looking at.

He concludes by arguing participants to leave their comfort zones, commit themselves and demonstrate to the trainers that they are ready to walk the talk. The Vice-Rector also donated a book to Islamic call university college, international facilitators and to NUST as a university. 

In her speech, the Academic Registrar of Islamic university in Uganda Dr Halima Akbar Wakabi said that the workshop has set a very good foundation for the participants to reflect at a personal and institutional level. From where they want to be and where they want to be known as scholars.

She thanked COMSTEC, NUST and the participants for the self-sacrifice, and efforts they have put in towards the workshop. ‘’I want to use this opportunity to thank the Rector ship and in particular, the rector of Islamic university in Uganda simply because the rector from day one has been pushing us from our comfort zones as scholars and we to pray for the dreams he has for this university to be fulfilled and well thank the team he works with’’ she said.

She concluded by appreciating the Director,  Islamic university in Uganda Females Campus, Kabojja, Dr Madina Nabukeera and her staff for preparing and organizing such a wonderful workshop despite her not feeling well and having other schedules, The event was concluded by giving gifts and certificates to the international scholars and participants.
