Farewell to the Outgoing Turkiye Ambassador

The Rector Assoc. Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda today 10/01/2023, met the outgoing Ambassador of Turkiye H.E. Mr. Fikret Kerem Alp for a farewell. He thanked the Ambassador for his commitment and support to the Islamic University in Uganda. The Ambassador also thanked the Rector and the University Management for the excellent collaboration over the years and noted that his first official duty to the community was at IUIU Females' Campus Kabojja where he officiated at the Graduation Ceremony of the finalists of the Tailoring Course supported by Tika (Turkish state agency) and Sena (Turkish NGO based in Kampala).
The Rector was accompanied by Dr. Twaha Kasule - Director IUIU KAMPALA Campus, Mr. Saim Celik - Coordinator IUIU Center for Capacity Development (CCD) and Mr. Mutyaba Abdallah - Senior Administrative Assistant. The Rector thanked HE the Ambassador for the Turkish assistance to the Ugandan communities and for his personal involvement in many of these projects.
He thanked Ambassador Kerim for the strong linkages IUIU has with the Turkish Government and several Turkish Universities and NGOs. He wished the Ambassador the best in his future endeavours and asked him to continue promoting IUIU in Turkiye.
On behalf of the entire Management, staff and students of IUIU, the Rector presented a plaque to HE Ambassador Kerim as a token of appreciation for the tremendous work he has done for IUIU and Uganda at large.
