IUIU Females Campus Celebrates Independence Colour Festival With Schools Ahead of Senior Four Exams

On 9th October 2022, hundreds of high school students, community and resident students of Islamic university in Uganda thronged timberland at the females’ campus in kabojja –Wakiso to celebrate the independence color festival. It is an annual event hosted by the director of the females’ campus Dr. Madina Nabuukeera .This annual colorful event is known to host different schools from within Kampala and Wakiso districts. Among the schools that graced the function were Mbogo schools, Lowelo Girls, Sumayah girls and many others.

The event was organized by Uganda National Association of Student Nurses & Midwives at kabojja. (UNASNM) in conjunction with, guild cabinet and directorship on Sunday.

The president UNASNM her excellence Husna Namugga Gava commended her team for pushing the events agenda to make it a success and promised the students a mega dinner for the nurses and midwives.

Usually, participants throw colored powder and water on each other in celebration, face painting, doge ball, and many others.
By 9; 30am, different schools had arrived to celebrate a day; food and drinks were served. Purple, green, grey blue, yellow, green, violets - and much more - were tossed around at students as was the love and warmth that was so ubiquitous.

The event was sponsored by Polo Auto Freight Forwarders, MTN Uganda, and Tropical bank which is the official bank used by the campus for school fees collection. The females’ campus is known for hosting such events. That is to say the Annual IUIU FC RUN, EHMSAK, Public speaking competitions, Debates, cultural Galas, and Traditional sports among others. The purpose of preparing these games is to gather and share the love with high school students and the community
