IUIU RECTORSHIP VISITS TURKISH EMBASSY IN UGANDA

The Rector Islamic university in Uganda (IUIU) accompanied by the Vice Rector Academic Affairs (VRAA), Dr. Jamil Serwanga, the Academic Registrar, Dr. Halima Akbar Wakabi, and Rector’s Assistant, Mr. Mutyaba Abdallah, today 21st October 2021 visited the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Turkey, H.E Kerim Alp. They discussed the upcoming visit to Tokat, Ankara, and Istanbul by the Rector.
The Rector in his remarks thanked the Government of the Federal Republic of Turkey for the assistance given to IUIU and the recent offer to develop a Demonstration Farm and a Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry at IUIU Farm located at Jami, 15 km from IUIU Main Campus.
We also acknowledged the 20 YOK scholarships from "The Council of Higher Education (Turkish: Yüksekögretim Kurulu, YÖK; translated as Higher Education Board), Turkey and the 45 scholarships in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering and Agriculture offered by Tokat Gazioanpasa University Rector Prof Binyamin, when he visited IUIU in March this year. We further thanked SENA Foundation for the Tailoring programmes at IUIU Females' Campus, which has graduated over 400 skilled girls and women.
The Ambassador replied positively and assured IUIU that the Turkish Government will continue supporting the University in its objective of youth education and skilling.
